Preparing Artwork To assist with the preparation of artwork, here are a few general guidlines for printing. If you cannot find what you need to know here, or require further clarification on any of the listed topics, please contact us.

Layout Design you pages as you feel comfortable either as single pages or as spreads. It is, however, much easier for us to impose your pages than for you to design in printers pairs. So more often than not, try to design in single pages.

Photo Scans and Images Images should be provided at a minimum of 300dpi saved in CMYK format. TIFF, file formats are preferred but we also accept images in many other formats including PSD and EPS. Care should be taken when providing images in other formats as compression may be used that could reduce final quality.

Bleed Images, background colours and fills which are intended to extend to the edge of the page should be extended 3-5mm beyond the page to give a bleed. Text, boxes and other areas you need on your finished job should sit 5mm in from the edges of the page.

Colour We won't put anything on press until you have OK'd the colour. Our proofs are calibrated for our presses and are very accurate. Please check the use of spot colours and don't forget to let us know.

Fonts We carry all the most popular Mac and PC fonts, please confirm at the time of ordering. If supplying a hi res pdf, your fonts should be embedded.

Media We can accommodate files created in a range of both Mac and PC based software, and saved on a wide range of media.
